Quick Hits: USA Out of Vietnam, Mainland, Andrew Judah, Three Times Bad, Dry the River

  • The Needle Drop has posted a song entitled “Tonight, The Dead Walk” by Montreal quintet, USA Out Of Vietnam. A fifteen minute cosmic voyage across heaviness and psychedelic bliss, the song closes out the group’s debut album, Crashing Diseases and Incurable Airplanes. The album is available on CD, gatefold double-vinyl and digital via New Damage Records (Ken Mode, Biblical) now.
  • Mainland have announced that they have been added to the line up for the TBD Fest.
  • Andrew Judah posts all of his music for free on Bandcamp, including two new songs from his upcoming LP “Monster.”
  • “No More No Less” is the fourth video produced by Three Times Bad band leader, author, and filmmaker Jesus Angel Garcia for songs on his San Francisco “dirty American roots” string band’s debut CD American Sojourn. The piece compiles haunting footage shot almost exclusively at San Francisco’s legendary Musee Mecanique.
  • Dry the River will release their highly anticipated second studio album, Alarms in the Heart, through Transgressive Records on August 26th 2014. The first track from the album to be unveiled, “Gethsemane,” uncovers the spiritual heart of the record, delivering a Buckley-esque narrative: “Excavating down you’d find the drowning and the drowned / And then there’s us, babe.” Shot at the Rivoli Ballroom in South London, the video for “Gethsemane” premiered on Vevo.
