Against Me! Release New Music Video, Announce Tour Dates

Against Me! has announced more North American tour dates for the summer and fall with The Gaslight Anthem, Jenny Owen Youngs and Creepoid. Touring behind the release of the critically acclaimed Transgender Dysphoria Blues, an album that entered the Billboard Top 200 at #23, the band’s highest charting position ever, Against Me! will be making appearances in both the U.S. and Canada beginning with a performance at Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY on Friday, July 18 and extending through the middle of October 2014.

To promote the upcoming tour, Against Me! have also released the official music video for their song “Drinking With The Jocks.” Directed by longtime friend Steak Mtn., the new music video is a frenetic visual collaboration between both artists set to one of Transgender Dysphoria Blues’ most aggressive and emotionally revealing tracks and serves as the very first music video Steak Mtn. has directed.

Additionally, frontwoman Laura Jane Grace will be making an appearance at this year’s inaugural Alternative Press Music Awards in Cleveland, OH on Monday, July 21. Held at the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and being broadcast live on AXS TV, the AP Music Awards, fueled by Monster Energy Drink, will include an hour pre-show red carpet, photo-op event and will be hosted by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182. The evening will include live performances from punk legends the Misfits and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, breakthrough artist twenty one pilots, current heavy-hitters Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, Asking Alexandria, Sleeping With Sirens, exclusive collaborations and surprise special guests. The night will also include appearances by Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Korn, Machine Gun Kelly, Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides), Frankie Palmeri (Emmure), Paramore, Ice-T & Coco, Memphis May Fire, Motionless In White, I See Stars and more.

Transgender Dysphoria Blues, Against Me!’s sixth full-length album that was recently deemed “one of the most incisive and life-affirming rock albums of the ’10s” by SPIN, is the intense follow-up to the band’s previous full-length, White Crosses, and stands as another major benchmark for the band and its career spanning over 15 years. Recorded at Studio 606, Earth Sound Studio, Motor Studio, Total Treble Studio and mixed by Billy Bush (Garbage, Muse, Tegan and Sara), Transgender Dysphoria Blues is an insightful and highly-provocative 10-song offering written by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, whose material examines one’s grappling with gender dysphoria, the loss of a young friend and pure self discovery, as well as love and ultimate acceptance. Featuring Grace’s signature, explicit songwriting and dominant vocals, the album also features longtime guitarist/vocalist James Bowman, drummer Atom Willard and Fat Mike of NOFX on bass for “FUCKMYLIFE666” and “Unconditional Love.”

With its lineup firmly in place that includes bassist Inge Johansson of The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Against Me! will be making the following appearances throughout North America this summer and fall with The Gaslight Anthem, Jenny Owen Youngs and Creepoid. Tour dates below.
