John & Jacob Announce Debut Album

John & Jacob, a dynamic new band of songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and performers from Birmingham, Alabama, are thrilled to announce the release of their self titled debut album out August 12th.

With songs like Ride with Me (which you can listen to on Paste Magazine) and Guilty Face (already spotlighted by Ann Powers of NPR), this debut is a timeless collection alive with soaring melodies flowing from one song to the next, all rooted in the sounds of back-porch pickers and the harmonies of gospel singers.

Ann Powers raves “There’s plenty classic about John & Jacob — the harmonies, the melodies, that Beatles-kissed beat — but the band brings these sounds into the future with a fresh attitude and certifiable skills. And they can get the young girls in any audience to dance. Young girls dancing are the number one predictor of rock and roll success.”

In support of their new album, John & Jacob will hit the road with long time fan Kacey Musgraves on June 27th. This past weekend, the band captivated music fans at the Hangout Music Festival, and will bring their much-talked-about live show to this year’s Bonnaroo and Firefly Music Festivals.

Within two years of moving to Nashville, the primary creative forces in the band, John Davidson & Jacob Bryant landed a publishing deal with Major Bob Music.

With a talent for writing solid pop songs full of rhythmic sophistication and glorious harmonies that allow their influences to shine through, the band has caught the attention of a wide range of music fans in Music City. Not long after they wrote their first Billboard #1 song, John & Jacob were nominated for an MTV O-Music Award, toured with The Band Perry and were tapped for Red Bull’s Sound Select.

New song Be My Girl – thanks to the hit prime time show “Nashville” – is already gaining in popularity at radio and with music fans.
